-Effective Godly input
These are my simple goals for our school.
~Mark B. Tan – Principal
Kaitaia Abundant Life School is different from other schools in that it is required, through the integration agreement between the Proprietors and the Ministry of Education, to uphold its Christian Special Character. This is our defining factor, the most treasured aspect of who and what we are as a school.
The Special Character of the school on a day-to-day basis can be observed through:
- Classes, lessons and every day life lived through a Biblical world view with the heart of giving glory to God in all we do
- Monday morning assemblies beginning with full school Holy Spirit-led praise and worship, Biblical teaching, and whanaungatanga.
- Morning devotional classes that are normally based around a term theme, examples of which include love, courage, excellence, respect, whanaungatanga, knowing God, etc.
- All staff members are Christians and teach their subjects in a manner that reflects the glory of God.
By definition, we are a state-integrated area school with a Christian special character. At the core of the school is the integration document between the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Proprietors. This allows Kaitaia Abundant Life School to train our students in the ways of the Lord and to deliver our Special Christian Character alongside the national curriculum from Years 1-13.
